Schmidt Selection features wines ranked 90 RP/WS points & above

While the selection of the five featured wine houses aimed to mix up the flashy with the ultimate customer's value, in order to create a thought-provoking fusion and facilitate a unique wine experience, Schmidt Selection aims for a much broader and more classic assortment, drawing predominantly from France's notorious region of Bordeaux. We offer the best from both shores of the Gironde River. A comparatively smaller fraction of the portfolio belongs to equally exquisite Italian vintages, reflecting more complex and less transparent pricing of Italian wine icons, such as Masseto, Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Solaia (in contrast to Bordeaux's En Primeur regime), which takes a toll on their purchasing price.

But make no mistake, the Selection brings to the table both, a breathtaking selection of the uppermost quality and spectacular rarities for passionate collectors, enologists and investors. The extra class of the Selection is corroborated by the ratings of:

+ Robert Parker (RP)
+ Wine Spectator (WS)
+ Gambero Rosso (for Italy)

…whose evaluations directly weigh on which wines and vintages make our list. To put it bluntly, Schmidt Selection features wines ranked at the minimum 90 RP/WS points and above.

The Selection is organized in RP/WS rating intervals, mirroring our dedication to supreme quality, but also for the sake of simplicity and transparency. The Bordeaux medley is dominated by the varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot; its Italian counterpart by Nebbiolo and Sangiovese.

Schmidt Selection is continuously and consistently expanded, with regards to ours and expert expectations for vintages' quality, current and future investment worth, and aging potential.
